Beam Camp for Making and Collaboration

Build, grow, learn, lead.

Beam Camp is now an integral part of Beam Center's mission. In 2016 Beam Camp will refine its summer program to sharpen the focus on skill-building, collaborative challenge, responsibility and mentorship, and deepen its commitment to engage youth from Beam Center's partner public schools and Community Based Organizations.

Beam Project Challenge: world-class projects built by self-directed camper teams with on-call support from staff
Beam Fundamentals: experience & skill-level group workshops in Project & Building, Computing & Electronics, Design & Prototyping, Craft & Materials
New Program Areas: Community Work, Independent Projects
Beam Center Teen Assistants: Rising 12th graders and college freshmen employed as teaching and program assistants

Beam campers progress as creators and collaborators while developing their own identities as learners, doers, friends, and leaders.
