Campers and staff alike spend time contributing to the shared responsibility of maintaining camp’s atmosphere, beauty, and cleanliness. There are many ways to contribute to the care of our community, and each morning we invite campers to plug into a rotating schedule of tasks that ensure we keep Beam Camp operating smoothly.
Community Care tasks may include sweeping the Dining Hall, removing weeds from the garden, organizing the shared resources at the waterfront or in the athletic field, and more! Staff and campers are also welcome to identify spaces that need some extra attention and have it added to the rotation, or even lead the charge on getting things back into shape!
Through participating in Community Care, campers learn the importance of accountability and shared responsibility while living in a communal space.
